A collection of files in MOZART
format (.mz) that have been produced to help me learn my part, first
bass, for performance with the Hoylake Choral Society. MOZART is a
music notation application that allows the music to be played on the
computer with a line that tracks across the score as the music plays.
Particular parts may be accentuated to aid the learning process and
since I sing first bass this part is dominant in most of these
pieces. In some cases I have included versions where other part emphasis is indicated.
The
accompaniment is often not included and where it is it has not been
done with much attention to accuracy. It has been mainly to provide
context for the vocal lines. Lyrics have been entered for the bass line and some times also for other lines.
The "viewer" software for MOZART can be downloaded free from the
MOZART website. This allows the files to be viewed on the screen,
printed and played back but does not permit any changes. The full
MOZART software can be purchased through the same site and this
additionally allows the creation of new music files and the editing of
existing ones.
If you download any of these files and edit them to improve the
representation, correct errors, add lyrics for other parts, etc., it
would be greatly appreciated if you would send the updated version back
to lawrie@schonfelder.co.uk so I can add the improved version to the
list here.
